What We Believe
The Bible
We believe that all Scripture is the inspired word of God, written by men under the direct revelation of the Holy Spirit of God. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error, that it points people to salvation through Jesus Christ, and is a necessity for Godly living.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Corinthians 15)
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. The members of the Church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ and have received Him as personal Savior and Lord. The purpose of the Church is to love and glorify God and to reveal Him to a lost world.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18)
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (the Trinity) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ the Son of God became flesh to reveal God to man and provide salvation for a lost and dying world.
(Genesis 1:1-2; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-18)
Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross is the only provision for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation is the gift of God freely offered to all who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment for their sin. There is no salvation apart from a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
(John 3:16; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-9)
Humanity
We believe that all people are created in the image of God, to glorify Him and have fellowship with Him. However, people have become alienated in that fellowship through sinful disobedience. As a result of sin, people are incapable of having a right relationship with Holy God through their own efforts.
(Genesis 1:27-28; Romans 3:23; Colossians 1:21)
Baptism and Communion
We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in Christ and proclaiming to others his desire to follow the Lord. Communion (Lord’s Supper) was instituted by Jesus and is the coming together of the Church to remember His sacrifice and to anticipate His second coming.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Christian Living
We believe all Christians should love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and love their neighbor as themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
(Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:17; 1 Peter 3:15)
